ALL-STAR LEADERSHIP FOOTBALL CAMP
All-Star Leadership Football Camp focuses on the importance of teaching leadership skills to the youth during their developmental stages. The components are based on integrity, vision, inspiration and performance, which are attributes of all great leaders.
Furthermore, the football camp also includes a specific track called “Exposure Through Learning” that is geared toward young men between the ages of 14-18. Its primary purpose is help students broaden their base knowledge through, community service and teaching them how to develop and strengthen partnership in Paterson, NJ and surrounding communities. All proceeds raised will be donated to victims who have sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury through sports concussions and affiliated with the brain injury association of New Jersey. |
BACKPACK-TO-SCHOOL CAMPAIGN
Back to school time can be a burden on many low-income families - especially those who have to provide school supplies and clothing for more than one child in their household. As school districts across the United States tighten their budgets - classroom supplies become sparse and begin to diminish until there aren’t enough to go around. With limited school supplies available, some of our youth are forced to go through the school year without basic supplies.
Rising Stars created the BACKPACK-TO-SCHOOL CAMPAIGN to provide the basic school essentials for the youth in Paterson, NJ. In addition we address areas in preparation and readiness, visual appearance, positive self-concept, self-esteem, confidence and the successful mind set toward school to help them start the school year off right! PACK-A-LUNCH, FEED A BUNCH
As one of the local non-profits in Paterson New Jersey, Rising Stars Foundation wants to help in the fight against hunger as well! Hunger is on the rise in the Passaic County, NJ area. Economic strain has forced many families to seek emergency aid causing donations to dwindle at food banks, food pantries and soup kitchens.
It is our goal to assist other non-profits organizations in helping alleviate hunger. Raising funds and collecting can and non-perishable food items are some of the many efforts Rising Stars will contribute towards this goal. Click here to learn how to donate food supplies.
You can also join forces with us by donating money towards this cause. Research shows that $15 can feed a family of six. However, the average cost per lunch is $4.99 per person. If a family of six purchases lunch at a leading fast food restaurant, their total bill will be approximately $30 - 2 times more than what it should cost to feed a family of six. If six members of our community packed their lunch for a day and donated $4.99 each (the average cost of eating out), their donation could feed a total of twelve people! Click here to donate. |
W.R.E.M - WOMEN EMPOWERMENT LUNCHEON
This luncheon will be hosted annually to recognize and support the National Women History Month and the participants in the W.R.E.M program. Rising Stars wants to celebrate women’s historic achievements as well as opportunity to honor women within our families and communities in an effort to educate the general public about the significant role of women in American history and contemporary society. |
